Virginia Center for Behavioral Health Expansion

Project Description

The Virginia Center for Behavioral Health (VCBR) expansion project features revamped treatment facilities and a 258-bed housing expansion, including 185,000 square feet of new construction and 50,000 square feet of renovation. The new facility helps provide recovery, opportunities, and support to the residents so they may safely return to the community. ColonialWebb provided all mechanical and plumbing systems for the project, which included a 60,000-gallon rainwater reclamation system (used for the non-potable water system in the building), two new 425-ton chillers that serve both the existing and new facilities, and fourteen new rooftop units to heat and cool the space. This expansion project also included three additional core and shell wings that will be fitted out at a future date to provide an additional 35,000 square feet of space.
