Project Overview

Wegmans Service Center in Hanover, VA, will be their southernmost distribution center as Wegmans continues to expand down the east coast. Coming in at over 1 million square feet total, this giant “L” shaped distribution center features over 400,000 square feet of refrigerated/frozen storage space, 435,000 square feet of dry food storage, and a dedicated banana (and other fruits/vegetables) ripening room. Each wing of the distribution center will have its own dedicated shipping and receiving offices, and a 50,000 sq ft main office will also be attached to the facility. The project consists of mechanical and plumbing. The mechanical system for the main warehouse areas is a mix of DX RTUs and CHW RTUs, and the office space is a DX RTU VAV system.

Once complete, the project will be one of Virginia’s largest refrigerated warehouse distribution centers. And, with such a large footprint, this project will change the satellite views you see on Google Maps for years to come!
