How CPR Training and Teamwork Saved a Life on a Construction Site

At ColonialWebb, our commitment to teamwork goes beyond completing projects. Recently, Mike Bowles, Alexis Curry, Dale Franklin, Matt Mann, and Kearney Gutierrez demonstrated incredible courage and quick thinking when faced with a life-threatening situation on one of our job sites.

During a routine workday, one of our valued teammates suddenly suffered cardiac arrest. Without hesitation, his fellow colleagues sprang into action. They immediately began performing CPR, administered the Automated External Defibrillator (AED), and promptly called 911 for professional medical assistance.

Thanks to their prompt response and effective teamwork, our colleague’s life was saved. He is now recovering comfortably at home, surrounded by his loved ones. This remarkable outcome is a testament to the dedication and preparedness of our team.

To honor and recognize their heroic efforts, we hosted a special celebration luncheon where those who played a pivotal role in saving their coworker’s life were presented with well-deserved plaques as tokens of appreciation.

“We are incredibly proud of our team’s quick actions and commitment to each other’s well-being,” said Nathan Wethington, VP, Mission Critical. “Their bravery and teamwork exemplify the values we hold dear at our company, and we are grateful for their presence and dedication.”

This inspiring story highlights not only the skills and training our team members possess but also the strong bonds and camaraderie that define ColonialWebb. It also serves as a reminder of the importance of learning CPR and being prepared for emergencies, both in the workplace and in everyday life. We encourage everyone to consider CPR training as a valuable skill that can make a difference in saving lives.

We remain committed to creating a safe and supportive work environment where every teammate can thrive.
