This weeks Golden Anniversary Giveback Spotlight is on our Baltimore team, who chose to work with Disability Partnerships. Founded in 2015, this nonprofit exists to develop programs and activities in the focus areas of affordable housing, health and wellness, education, and economic empowerment for those with disabilities. They believe that people with physical disabilities can do more than just survive with a disability — they can thrive as people who live with physical disabilities.
Our Baltimore team is excited to get to work assisting families throughout the year, helping with various accommodations allowing comfortable transitions back into homes after surgery. A few examples in the lineup are installing handrails, installing accessible sinks that wheelchairs can fit under, and even repairing HVAC units. In addition, the team is collecting aids such as walkers and canes to give to those who cannot afford them. The team is eager to begin work helping giveback to this generous charity and the individuals benefitting from it.
