Transportation Buildings and Facilities

Due to heightened security concerns in the aftermath of Sept. 11, 2001, many airports are finding themselves ill-equipped to handle extra security measures. Airport officials often answer the problems by expanding terminals to accommodate passenger traffic and security screening.

ColonialWebb Contractors, in assisting with these measures, is gaining expertise in this relatively new, but growing field.

The Richmond International Airport is undergoing the largest upgrade in its history. The airport hired ColonialWebb to work on the central plant, terminal expansion and security checkpoint addition.

The project’s biggest test was providing a seamless transition from the old facilities to the new while maintaining service. We achieved this goal by again exercising our attention to detail and pre-planning skills.
