With more than 30 years of experience, ColonialWebb Contractors realizes the special requirements of working for a government agency. Often, an existing government building is protected by historic preservation laws, and our work in such a structure must guard the integrity of the past.
Buildings for some government clients are located in busy, urban areas, which create tight working quarters. With our continual ability to earn repeat business, we know how to get the job done right – on time and on budget.
The Patrick Henry Building, also known as the Old State Library, in downtown Richmond needed new air handling units in its sub-basement. Originally built in 1939, the space only had a ceiling height of 5 feet 10 inches.
We successfully completed the job – with some unusual modifications. The only way for technicians to get from one side of the sub-basement to the other was to go directly through the units themselves using doors we specifically crafted for that purpose.
