In honor of Earth Day, ColonialWebb will help local businesses identify ways to reduce their energy consumption. We are holding an open competition to find 5 businesses in Virginia, with the best opportunities to reduce their carbon footprints. The 5 semi-finalists will receive a 1-2 hour walkthrough Energy Dig on Earth Day – Friday, April 23. The Energy Dig identifies no cost / low cost solutions as well as cost effective improvements to lighting, HVAC, and electrical systems. This assessment results and conservation opportunities are detailed in a brief report.
Participants will be assessed based on their energy conservation potential and cost effectiveness of energy conservation measures. Entries must be submitted by 12 PM Thursday, April 21 and the 5 winners will be notified by 5PM to schedule their on-site assessments on Earth Day. If necessary, the Energy Dig can be conducted the following Monday or Tuesday.
