Continuous Improvement

Continuous Improvement

At ColonialWebb Contractors, we believe that the tireless pursuit of improvement is critical to maintaining our leadership position in the industry.

That’s why we use Six Sigma Methodology – a statistical approach to measuring business processes. Six Sigma reduces process variation through the application of quantitative and disciplined problem solving techniques.

Six Sigma Methodology has five steps:

  • Define
  • Measure
  • Analyze
  • Improve
  • Control

By following this method, we’ve seen dramatically positive results in a number of processes including:

  • Reducing purchase order entry errors by more than 50 percent
  • Reducing billing-cycle time from 21 to 10 days
  • Improving service technician arrival time to an average of 10 hours
  • Reducing service order completion time by more than 70 percent

We constantly review and measure nearly everything we do. Each project we take on is classified against a number of measurable criteria, including level of complexity and resources required to achieve the best possible results.

From the top level of our company, we monitor our projects’ progress and effectiveness. Our executive committee is highly involved in every job bearing the ColonialWebb Contractors’ name.

Six Sigma produces measurable improvements. We owe our clients nothing less.
